I wish I could visit your classroom and observe :) I just got my first permanent teaching position in northern Ontario teaching Gr. K-3 and your ideas have been very helpful. I've never taught Kindergarten before so it has definitely been an adjustment especially because I'm also teaching Gr.1-3. I bought the "Assessment Notebooks for the Four Frames" off of Teacherspayteachers and I was wondering if you plan on sharing your Literacy assessments as well. Thank you and I hope you have a great year teaching!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10117735471596101359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1352539880410883104.post-65309096003250631082016-11-05T11:41:29.124-04:002016-11-05T11:41:29.124-04:00Hello!

I teach a year 2/grade 1 split and bought this product for the kindergarten assessment and am now creating one for personal use for my grade 1 class. Ideally I'd like them to look the same, would you be willing to share what fonts you used to write the term and type of assessment. Thank you! Well I guess the short answer is that they don't :) I continue to have centres open that expose the students to the alphabet and we pull guided groups to work on letter ID based on assessments. I do move on while group because I usually have many students who are ready for more. But I do adjust this too based on the group. For whole group alphabet activities we do things like read alouds, co-created alphabet posters and alphabet songs. I hope that helps! What type of alphabet activities do you do? How do your students learn the alphabet that quickly?
