Five for Friday: December 18

We made it! Happy Winter Break 2015!!

I'm sharing some of my last week before winter break activities and linking up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday linky!

Number Order Gingerbread Man Puzzle

I had a lot of requests to share this on Instagram, so here it is! The students colour, cut and glue the numbers in order to recreate the picture.

You can grab this printable in my Kindergarten Christmas Activities pack on TPT.  You can click here or on the image below to check it out!

Breakfast with Santa

On Wednesday we had breakfast with Santa! Well Santa didn't actually come to breakfast like we thought.. lol but he was at our school and after the Grade 7 and 8 students served us pancake breakfast in our classroom we got to go down to the library and each student got to take a picture with Santa! The kids were SO excited!

Since breakfast was first thing in the morning I had these placemats out and ready on the table so the kids could colour and trace as they waited for the pancakes to arrive.  If you would like a copy you can click here or on the image above to grab it for free!

Candy Cane Patterning with Pipe Cleaners & Pony Beads

Here is a simple patterning centre you can put out! Students are encouraged to make patterns using the pony beads on the pipe cleaners.  It is great fine motor practice for those littles who still need it too!

Rudolph! Rudolph! Poem

Our shared reading poem this week was Rudolph! Rudolph!

First we read the poem and filled in the rhyming colour words whole group.

Then each student got their own book! Most of my students got a tracing one and I had the ones who I knew could do it independently write the word on their own.

This was the perfect little booklet to leave with the supply teachers when we were out for a workshop on Wednesday!

If you are interested in this booklet you can check it out in my TPT store by clicking on the pictures below.

Student & Team Gifts

I love giving hand soap from Bath & Body Works as team gifts.  It's easy, cheap and who can't use an extra bottle of hand soap? I whipped up these tags to put on the soaps.  It says "Soaping you have a great holiday!" I gave these to my ECE and my 3 teaching partners.

I also made up these mini gifts for my teammate's ECE partners (3), our custodian, secretary, principal and vice principal.  I just put a candy cane and some chocolate in a snack size ziplock bag and stapled the label on top. Easy peasy!

If you would like either of these labels you can click here to grab them!

We also handed out our Christmas gifts to the kids on Thursday.  We gave them the book "Sneezy the Snowman" and the Sneezy the Snowman Activity Book.  We hope the kids love the book and enjoy doing the activities too during the break!

That's it from me this week!
We also had our first ever Grinch Day today!
I'll be back soon to tell you all about that sometime very soon ;)
